  • New Name, New Place, and New Beginnings

So, the wedding is next Saturday, 8 days.  We are in the single digits and things are speeding up.

Jared and I went last night and joined the gym by our soon to be new apartment as Jared and Cassie Wallin.  The new place is literally right next to the gym.  It is a three bedroom two bath, and I think that it will work well for us for a while.  It better at least because honestly I am a bit tired of moving.  I have moved atleast once a year for the 4 1/2 years that I have lived here.  I am so ready to sit still.

We are going Wednesday to get the marriage license; then I have to get my hair done, nails done and all that good stuff.  The lingerie shower is this Saturday which should be fun...I will get to see a few of my girlfriends that I don't see much.

Then, Jared and I have a Discovery Class this Sunday at the church we have been visiting.  Seems like things might actually be falling into place a little bit.

But first things first....tonight Jared and I will be printing programs and working on Thank you cards.  Then we need to start planning packing and chart out our trip.  (Can you tell I like knowing what I am doing?)  Things may never go the way they are suppose to, but at least I have an idea of how they might.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and I hope to see you all in 8 days or less!

  • Bend over Backwards

For the last couple of days my job has been Hades.  We have rules and such that we are suppose to go by.

We only take back in stock items and that is only if we still stock the item.  We do not take back special order items because the companies we order them from will not take them back.  If the company happens to take them back then they charge us freight and a 25% restocking fee.  Some times we do this but it is the customers responsibility to cover these charges unless the item was ordered wrong or came in wrong.  In other words if they ordered too much or decided not to use it it is not our fault, and therefore not eligble for return without a penalty.  We are a small company we do not have the ablity to take back everything in the world like Wal Mart or Lowes and for some reason people don't understand that.  Actually, Lowes won't take back special order items either.

Well, the last couple of times people have tried to bring special order items back and I tell them we can't take special orders back they get mad at me and act like I am trying to rip them off.  Like I am doing this to them on purpose.  When I try to explain why we can't take it back without a restock fee and freight fee they get mad and leave.  Then, what usually happens is they will talk to one of the owners or the store manager and we end up taking it back and paying the fees ourselves b/c they would rather the customer leave happy.  I completely understand that but why make me look like an idiot to begin with?  I would love to be able to take everything back and make everyone's day. If we keep doing that with the way that business is going we are going to be giving back more money than we are bringing in.  I wonder why we have the policy if we are not going to enforce it or at least give the sales people a little bit of power in the situation.

I don't handel people getting mad at me very well.  I stumble over my words and I almost get on the verge of tears everytime.  So, I am sitting here trying to explain the policies and also trying to keep my composure and they take it that I have a tone about me.  I don't know what to do about it.  I am worried if I take the tile back I will get in trouble and if I don't take the tile back they will get on to me for it making me upset.  Not even upset mad...just upset.  There truly are days that I hate what I do or have to do.  I rarely seem to come off as the good guy/girl in the scenerio.

  • Furniture Diet

Our best solution to exercising with our diets this week is moving the furniture we bought up three flights of stairs.  We started putting it together last night.  Got one night stand done and most of the armoir.  We still have to finish the armoir, two dressers, one night stand and a kitchen table.  We are going to try and have it all put together before the party next Saturday.  Jared decided today to give weight watchers a try.  I think it might of done the trick when I ate a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's last night for dinner. (7 points)  He was like, "You can eat fried chicken?"  Yep!  I did opt for the mandarin oranges instead of the fries though.

My phone is messed up.  The customer service people said to try and run an update on it and if that doesn't work they will send me a new phone.  I tried to reboot it because the ringer was not working right and now it will not load past the start screen.  So, if anyone has tried to call or message me I can't get the call.  Send me a message on myspace or facebook....I will get it.  I have my at&t phone but no one really has that number and I don't want to post it in a blog.  Therefore that phone is a bit pointless.  You can message me for the number if you are at&t.

On a different note.  I get to experience my favorite movie this weekend.  My best friend for the last 13 years of my life gets married tomorrow at 2.  It is a small pretty much family only wedding at a downtown park in Florence.  I am one of two bridemaids.  The other being her sister.  I am so happy for her, but on the same note it is completely weird to think she will be married and that I will be married three months from today.  Wow!

After the wedding Jared and I will head to Corinth so that he can present an award for the Maggies decked out in our wedding clothes.  He got nominated for two awards so we will see how that goes.

Work is moving slower but it is still moving.  I should actually be working on an estimate right now.  I have one kitchen down and one starting next week.  I will hopefully have time to sit and post pictures soon.  Hope everyone has a good weekend!

  • Diets

Jared and I are officially going back on our diets.  He has been on his for about a week and I started mine back today.  I think it will be good b/c we can keep each other accountable but at the same time it is hard to shop b/c I am on Weight Watchers and he is on Akins.  Like tonight I said I want popcorn b/c a mini bag of kettle corn is like 2 points and he apparently can't have it.  :Sadness:  Any suggestions on compromises?
